Blossom

2007 - 2023

Today, it is with heavy hearts that Mister Charley and Shylow announce the passing of their older sister and friend, little Blossom, nearly a month after her 16th birthday. Both are saddened, but thankful that she was a part of their lives. Each pup owes a debt of gratitude to their sister. After all, it was she that taught Charley the "importance" of catching each airborne water droplet, whether if it was water being splashed from a pool or horseplay in the back yard with a garden hose and spray nozzle. Good times. Shylow observed, mimicked, and mastered the art of toy retrieval and presentation to us as a greeting, and a way for him to be praised by us. Blossom taught him that. That was the first step of him acclimating to our family.

Even though there were many mannerisms of Blossom’s that each would emulate, neither pup could replicate the ability to speak to us; especially when greeting us as we walked through the door after arriving home. She’d wiggle up to us, drop her toy, and proclaim, “I love you!”…at least that’s what we heard. She spoke often, although sometimes the phrases sounded a little terse.

God…we’ll miss her.

Lastly, we all would like to thank Dr. Lisa at Grove Veterinary Clinic. Lisa has shown unrivaled caregiving to our pets and council to us dumb humans. She treats our pets as though they were her pets. Her (without a doubt) best attribute is…Listening. She is one of the “rare breed” healthcare professionals that actually listens to the client and makes them feel as though there isn’t a “time limit”. I believe as good as we think that she is as a vet, in our eyes; she’s an even better person. Thank you.
