Lilly

2006 - 2019

We lovingly said goodbye to Lilly on the morning of July 27th, 2019. Our sweet Lilly passed on peacefully at home in her mama’s arms.

Lilly was a little girl with a big place in our hearts- an angel sent down to earth. She was tiny but mighty with the cutest face, dearest heart, and softest fur you ever touched. She’d make you smile after a long day and she’d lick the tears off your face when life got tough.

Lilly was a loving companion and faithful Emotional Support Animal. Lilly always knew when her Mom needed her most. Lilly would wake in the middle of the night to be by her side and travelled everywhere as a constant comfort. Airplanes, weekend getaways, or trips to the store, Lilly was there. She’d hop in the suitcase or jump in her bag and off we’d go. She loved walking on the boardwalk getting attention and letting the little ones stop to pet her. Lilly brought light and love to everyone she met.

Lilly’s favorite things included napping with her mom, laying in the sun, running on the beach, chilling by the pool, going on day trips, drinking out of mugs, and freshly cooked chicken. She loved soft baby blankets and fuzzy heating pads, flat stuffed animal friends, warm laundry out of the dryer, sleeping in, car rides, inflatable boat rides, bubble baths, and being pet endlessly.

Lilly loved doing tricks for family and friends. She could sit, stay, come, jump over, go through, roll over, shake paw, fetch, hide and seek, lay down, put your head down, army crawl, dance, and more. She loved our tradition of giving her an extra noodle every time we cooked homemade spaghetti. She also loved stealing left over peanut butter toast when we weren’t looking.

Above all, Lilly loved her people. She will be deeply missed by her family, but her memory will live on in their hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you give your pets extra love and kisses in memory of Lilly. Rest in peace sweet girl.

The Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears pricked forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over...together.
