Vince
2017 - 2024
Our sweet, vocal, ball-loving boy crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, June 14, 2024. Born September 10, 2017, Vince was by far the happiest, most spoiled boy there was. He was also incredibly loud. For a 100-pound German Shepherd, it always made us laugh that he’d scream, yes scream, instead of barking. We’d come home and before getting out of the car, we’d hear the “ahhh-waaaahhh!” Coming from inside. He loved playing ball like a soccer player—he’d grab the loudest spiky ball he could find, then push a second larger ball with his nose and paws, squeaking with every step. He loved food. All food, but especially steak. Walks were his favorite. When he walked, he’d barely take 2 steps before turning to look up at me, and our neighbors thought it was the most adorable thing. It was. My shadow and companion, i couldn’t move without him moving to follow, often screaming with excitement.
Vinny was only 6, and we feel robbed of time, but we’re forever grateful that he lived a full, happy life. We pray no one has to encounter acute myeloid leukemia, and as a large dog owner, be sure to know the signs of GDV.
