I couldn't be more blessed to have been Alex's human for close to sixteen years. For his lifetime, I was lucky enough to have Alex as my best friend. Alex taught me what unconditional love is and what it was like to rely on someone for everything.
Alex was always right next to me the minute I got home. He enjoyed going for walks in his youthful days and as we grew together, he cuddled up next to me for movie night. Alex loved his required treats (anytime he came inside the house or someone came inside) and enjoyed begging for food.
I have never had such a difficult choice to make, until December 23,2015. Alex knows how my entire world revolved around him and how much love I have for him. Losing my best friend is the hardest thing I have ever faced.
Alex is preceded in death by his neighborhood friends, Twinkie Hendricks and Maddie Hendricks. I pray they are all together, young, happy, pain free, and playing in Heaven. My best friend may not be sleeping next to me anymore but I know Alexander is my Guardian Angel with paws.
