Cocoa

2007 - 2023

Cocoa Semore was born on October 16, 2007 and peacefully passed away on July 8, 2023 surrounded by her Mommy, Daddy, aunt Kim, and Papa KD; making her stay on Earth 15 years and 8 months. Although she had a long and happy life, to Mommy and Daddy, no time would ever be enough with our precious baby girl.

Cocoa was originally intended to be a Christmas gift for her daddy, but as time went on it was easy to see that she adored both of her parents and her other family members. As a puppy, she loved to run, look at herself in mirrors, and annoy her older brother, joe (cat) by barking, cornering, and chasing him. She’d love to turn the trash can over and stroll the trash all over the house. One time, she hid behind the shower curtain after doing so. She couldn’t stay hidden when mommy said, “where is cocoa?” She wagged her little tail, and it was easy to see where she was hidden. In her younger years, she loved to play and jump in the snow; so much so, she’d have snowballs attached to her fur and legs. One time she accidentally jumped into a tub full of ice-cold water because she wanted a drink from the faucet. She came running to show mommy and daddy what had happened and was soaking wet. When we moved to our current home, she met her uncle gizmo (dog) and began chasing and playing with him continuously. She would steal his chew bone and fall asleep on it just to keep him from getting it. As an adult, she didn’t really enjoy bath times, but would always let mommy roll her in a towel like a burrito and cuddle with her until she was nearly dry. Afterwards, she’d run up and down the hallway playing with her many toys. At times, she loved to play fetch and box with her daddy. This always led to snorts and kisses afterwards. She enjoyed giving daddy kisses and sleeping on his head too. Cocoa loved to watch tv and her favorite movie was bolt. She loved the “dogface” scene the most and would bark continuously. In her later years and after gizmo’s passing, she enjoyed cuddling with mommy and daddy and her favorite meals of chicken, ground beef, or the occasional steak. She absolutely loved riding in the car and was always up for vacations to the smoky mountains or to the beach as long as she was with mommy and daddy. Her little brother/uncle, Bo (dog), came into her life a few years ago and would always jump over her when playing fetch. Cocoa would get aggravated and chase him down the hallway barking, but mostly snorting. She also didn’t like sharing her favorite spot with him next to mommy on the couch and would growl to keep him from coming close.

Cocoa was the truest friend to us and she had such a compassionate and beautiful soul. She had unconditional love for her family that will remain unmatched for all eternity. She always knew when mommy and daddy needed special kisses or to burry our faces in her fur and just cry. We will forever miss her kisses, barks, snorts, tail wags, and so much more. Most of all, we will miss the sounds of her toes pitter-pattering down the hallway, her personal escorts within the house, and her sweet snuggles while snoring in her sleep.

She was the absolute best baby in the world and our hearts have broken millions of times since losing her. There will never be another nut-nut, spineenee, cocoamo, monkey, or coconut in our lives. We’re so thankful she was our daughter, guardian, and above all things, our best friend. We pray God has revealed to her how much she is loved and that she is tremendously missed. I pray she is running and playing with joe-joe, gizmo, nanny Catherine, and granny b. When we meet again, we’ll have happy times, hugs, and kisses to share. We love you always and forever, our dear cocoa.
We ask that all please pray for us as we grieve and approach our new normal without our darling angel.
