Gracie (G-Girl)
2009 - 2026
When we brought Gracie home, life was shifting into a more difficult chapter. We already had another dog who was peaceful and easygoing. And then there was Gracie. She was loud and endlessly energetic. She barked at everything. She would drag her food & water bowls upstairs and throw them at us when they were empty, as if to say, excuse me, I require service. She was nothing like our other dog, and at first, that difference felt like more than we knew how to handle. If we’re being honest, she probably got the short end of the stick in those early days. We didn’t always understand her. We didn’t always appreciate the chaos.
As the years passed, we began to see Gracie for who she really was, not too much, not difficult, just full of life. She loved to play, she loved people, and she especially loved to eat. She became our shadow, our velcro dog. Wherever we went, she followed. And somewhere along the way, without us even realizing it, she wrapped herself around our hearts. She may have been different from our first dog, but she was never less special. She was her own kind of wonderful.
For over 16 years, Gracie shared her life with us. That’s thousands of ordinary days made better simply because she was there, barking, playing, bowl-throwing, and all.
we are so grateful for her. We loved her, and we will carry her with us always, her energy, her loyalty, and the joy she brought into our lives.
