Joey
2019 - 2026
Joey was my first doodle. I fell in love from one picture shown to me at Jiu Jitsu by another parent who had his sister. That was a Monday, and by Friday, we were driving down to the middle of nowhere to get him. He was kept in a basement in a cage and didn't know how to walk on hard flooring. His big feet hadn't grown into his little body. He hated the outdoors and was afraid of his own shadow, but boy, did he love people. Everyone who came over loved our Joey, aka Bubba. He would get so excited to see his people. His signature hugs are going to be missed. His judgy side eyed looks. I was prepared for any worst-case scenario, but not this. To be here one minute and watch him gone in 30 minutes is gut-wrenching. I share this so that I can share his pictures and memories. He loved his momma, and I have to believe he'll be waiting for me at that rainbow bridge.
