🐾 In Loving Memory of Rocky

Yesterday, I had to say goodbye to my sweet Rocky. My heart is shattered, and I want to share what happened in the most honest and loving way I can.

Rocky became unsteady and wasn’t acting like himself, so I kept a close eye on him. When things suddenly got worse, I rushed him to the ER. The vets found that he was experiencing a severe neurological event — something they told me can come on quickly, without warning, and without any clear cause. He even developed nystagmus, rapid eye movements that happen when the brain is under extreme stress. They supported him with oxygen and did everything they could, but sometimes the body just can’t recover from something that happens that fast and that unexpectedly.

Rocky passed peacefully, wrapped in love. And even though my guilt has been heavy, the truth is that I acted with love every step of the way. I did what any caring dog mom would do: I watched him closely, I reacted when things changed, and I gave him comfort and safety in his final moments. Nothing about this was my fault — it was something sudden and beyond anyone’s control.

Rocky wasn’t just a dog. He was my shadow, my protector, my goofy little heartbeat on four paws. He filled our home with joy, loyalty, and a love so pure it’s impossible to put into words. I already miss the sound of his paws, the way he’d look at me like I was his whole world, and all the tiny routines that made our days together feel full.

Thank you to everyone who loved him alongside me. Please keep him in your thoughts, and give your pets a little extra love today in his honor.

Rest easy, Rocky. You were the best boy, and you’ll be in my heart forever. 🤍🐾
